Getting started with the Hub

The one-off Discogs import at onboarding

3 min

If you sell on Discogs today, the import is the fastest way into the Hub. It runs once, at the start, and it is the only moment anything moves from Discogs into the Hub. After that, Discogs is a sales channel like Bol.com or eBay, and the Hub is where your stock lives.

What the import copies

The import brings your own stock administration into the Hub: the listings you maintain on Discogs, with the prices, conditions and quantities you gave them. It is the work you already put in, and it comes across in full.

What it leaves behind

The import copies your listings, not the catalogue they hang on. Artist names, titles, tracklists, credits and images stay at Discogs. The Hub rebuilds the description of each release from public, openly licensed data and matches your imported copies to it by release. Your storefront therefore carries none of Discogs' catalogue content. Where a release cannot be matched, your copy is kept with the details you entered, ready to complete in the Hub.

Why the split matters

Your listings are yours to move. The catalogue text and images on a marketplace are not, and a shop built on them is one someone else can switch off. Keeping the two apart means your storefront never rests on a licence you do not hold.

How to run it

  1. Go to Settings → Integrations and choose Discogs.

  2. Authorise RecordFlower on Discogs. You are sent to Discogs, sign in there and grant access; you never share your password. The same authorisation is later used to publish listings and receive orders on the Discogs channel.

  3. Start the import. A few hundred listings take minutes; tens of thousands take longer, because Discogs limits how fast anyone may read. You can close the page; the Hub continues and emails you when it is done.

  4. Check the result in your inventory: how many copies came in, how many matched the catalogue, and which need attention.

What changes the day after

From that point the Hub is where your stock lives, with three practical consequences.

  • New records enter through the Hub, via Scan and Go or manual entry, and the Hub publishes them to Discogs. A record you add on Discogs itself does not reach the Hub.

  • Price and condition changes are made in the Hub and pushed to every channel, Discogs included, with an optional markup or discount per channel.

  • Discogs orders keep arriving as before. The Hub checks every minute, blocks the sold copy and withdraws it from your webshop, Bol.com and eBay.

Can I import again later?

The import is built to run once, because two sources of truth are how a record gets sold twice. If you kept adding stock on Discogs after the import, contact support: we bring in the difference as a one-off correction, and the Hub takes over from there.

If the Discogs connection drops

Your administration is in the Hub, so nothing is lost. Your webshop, till, Bol.com and eBay carry on; you lose a channel, not your inventory. Reconnect under Settings → Integrations and your listings go back up.

Not on Discogs?

Skip this step. A CSV upload does the same for a spreadsheet, and Scan and Go builds your stock from the shelves.

One inventory, all channels. Your store, your margin.
