How RecordFlower tracks your Discogs inventory in real time
Your webshop is only reliable if the stock is correct. RecordFlower technically takes care of that - via a direct link with Discogs that automatically processes every change. This is exactly how that synchronization works, and what happens in the background.
The link: OAuth as a data bridge
RecordFlower reads your Discogs inventory through an OAuth link. That link gives RecordFlower read access to your inventory data: releases, prices, conditions and descriptions. As soon as you change something on Discogs, that change is ready to be processed in your webshop at the next synchronization.
Two synchronization moments
RecordFlower has two types of synchronization. The automatic sync runs every night at 00:00 - completely in the background, without you having to do anything. The manual sync you start yourself through your dashboard, anytime you want. Both count as one sync in your monthly limit.
What exactly is synced
Each sync compares your current Discogs inventory with what is in your online store. New items are added. Changed prices, conditions or descriptions are updated. Deleted items are removed from your webshop. Sold items are marked as sold out - on both channels.
What does this mean for you?
Synchronization is the silent engine of your webshop. You manage your stock on Discogs - RecordFlower makes sure everything is correct, on both channels, without manual intervention.
